About Andrés W. López
Andrés W. López is an experienced lawyer who represents both plaintiffs and defendants in complex civil litigation. After graduating from Harvard College and Harvard Law School, and before starting his own firm, he clerked for two federal judges and worked in the litigation department of two big law firms in Boston and San Juan. For more than 25 years, Andrés has worked on cases spanning a broad range of substantive areas, such as constitutional law, products liability, securities and antitrust litigation, among others. He also has considerable experience in matters involving class actions and multi-district litigation. Andrés is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and an Elected Member of the American Law Institute.
Andrés has served on numerous boards of directors and volunteer positions, both in the legal profession and in the community at large. Andrés also had the honor of working to help elect, and then re-elect, the first African American president in American history. During his tenure, President Barack Obama appointed Andrés to serve on a bipartisan commission to create the Smithsonian American Latino Museum. He thereafter appointed Andrés to serve as the first-ever Puerto Rican on the Kennedy Center Board of Trustees. Additionally, Andrés has held elected and leadership positions in the Democratic National Committee, the Federal Bar Association, Harvard College and Harvard Law School.
